KCSA has just finalized plans for its first international trip, which has been in the works since last Spring. The trip will be held from June 1 to June 10, 2018, and will be to Vienna and Salzburg, capitalizing upon the theme of the Symphony Ball last September, “An Evening in Vienna.”
The trip will include transportation to Vienna, eight nights at a five-star hotel in Vienna, a day in Salzburg, tickets to four concerts and a ballet (two other evenings are optional), touring of Vienna’s historical sites including Beethoven and Mozart lodgings, and visits to the Galerie Belvedere, Danube Valley, Hofburg Palace, Albertina Palace and Vienna Woods. In Salzburg the group will enjoy visits to Mozart’s birth home, Mozart’s apartments, the Hohensalzburg Castle and the famous Salzburg Cathedral. A Mozart dinner concert is included.
The concerts will include both the Vienna Philharmonic and the Berlin Philharmonic, conducted by Sir Simon Rattle and Mariss Jansons, respectively, at the glamorous Musikverein concert hall, a concert of Verdi selections with soprano Diana Damrau, and the ballet Giselle at the famed Staatsoper (State Opera House), among others.
The price for the trip, including breakfasts and either lunch or dinner every day, is $6,850. Spots are sold on a first-come first-served basis.
Details will be available soon on the Kansas City Symphony web site. In the meantime, please contact Don Dagenais at firstname.lastname@example.org to have a PDF copy of the brochure e-mailed to you. We hope you can join us!
